I'm very much in the market for the perfect solid black leather handbag. As any sensible bargain shopper would do, I have been popping into my local T.J. Maxx in search of something close enough to what I want...If only I could find something close enough that I know I'll be satisfied and save a couple of hundered dollars!
My must have features are...beautiful, soft, genunine leather; gold hardware; can be worn with both casual and dressy looks; prefer handles and shoulder strap...
Another option would be a nice caramel colored leather. I love the look of caramel leather with black clothes and accessories, and I've been eyeing the MK bedford bowling satchel, and the Coach madison leather lindsey in that caramel/light brown shade.
What is your strategy for making a decision on a pricey handbag purchase? Suggestions and advice welcome:-)

ReplyDeleteI have the ivory large MK Hamilton for summer and the only complaint I have about it is that it loses its shape quickly and starts to sag. Otherwise, I love it.
ReplyDeleteI'm not a huge purse person, but I to have the MK Hamilton and LOVE it, although as the previous comment mentions it does lose it's shape super quick, which sucks because I love the structured look.

Awwww..have fun on Sunday! :) bet you guys are looking forward to that! I don't know if you have Loehman's on your area, but years ago i bought two Italian-leather big bags for less than $200 each. It's still my #1 option for high quality bags. All your options shown above are gorgeous. You can't go wrong with any of those. My favs are #4,5 and 6. Muah! :)

ReplyDeleteThe 2nd bag is my favorite. When it comes to buying pricey bags, I always think about whether or not I would wear this bag for years to come, how durable and timeless is it, and how many different outfits I can wear it with, haha! :)

I love all your picks. I'm the worst for making purchases that over $100. It's always so hard to shell out money unless you know for sure that you're going to love something and that you'll wear it regularly. If I know for sure that I can check both those 2 requirements off then I might take the plunge. Hope you're able to find something that you love! :)

ReplyDeletemy favorite bag is my Frye bag, it is sort of a distressed grey that goes with everything. A good black bag is always useful though, and I like your choices. I always like bags that have good shape to them....and that don't collapse when you pick them up or once they have some weight inside them.
